I always thought Schopenhauer was missing the obvious when he said suffering can only be ended by the abnegation of this mythical basal property he called 'the will' rather than simply just desisting from procreation.
The same assertion can also be levelled at the bath robed Siddhartha but then Buddhism is superstitious twaddle aimed at middle class housewives and graduates.
